A Savior Is Born

A Savior is Born:

Hello everyone, Christmas day is this week. Families will gather, presents exchanged, and a Christmas meal served. Most importantly, it’s the time of remembering our Lord and Savior’s birth. Through Isaiah, this prophecy of our Lord’s birth, was given from God and delivered to King Ahaz of Judah (Israel) as a sign (cp. 7). War was coming upon King Ahaz and yet he had no faith in God and rejected God. He rejected God because he trusted in an alliance that he made with the Assyrian King and his army to help him fight back Judah’s attackers. King Ahaz turned away the help from the one and only Holy God that could save him. Understand this, God will leave the choice to trust and obey Him solely on you. He will not force you in any way to follow Him. Hence, the rejection of God, lies the hardening of a heart and soul. To rely on self and trust the might and strength of men, of the world, for victory instead of the Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent God is foolish.  The world, man, or anything outside the Cross of Jesus Christ and His finished work on that Cross will not save you. That is why God sent His Son, a sign, Jesus, to be born of a virgin named Mary. A divine conception! This prophecy was given 750 years prior to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior’s birth. It happened just as God said it would. The promise of a true Savior, King, and Deliverer was born in a stable in the little town of Bethlehem. There is no double speak from God. What He says He will do; He will do and perform it (Philippians 1:6). Jesus Christ birth was a must. Because God so loved the world (His creation, man; all of creation; John 3: 16) that He gave His only begotten Son (because of sin) to die on a Cross for us. The Holy Perfect Lamb of God was born, crucified, and resurrected. There is no salvation, no relationship with God, if it weren’t for Jesus Christ birth, Immanuel “God with us”. There would be no hope! Indeed, a Savior is needed to deliver all humanity from sin. This Savior, His name, is Jesus Christ. Hallelujah! I am so grateful for the birth of Jesus. There is no fear when God is with us. Amen! Merry Christmas and celebrate Jesus! Praise God!

Isaiah 7:10-14

10 Moreover the Lord spake again unto Ahaz, saying,

11 Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God; ask it either in the depth, or in the height above.

12 But Ahaz said, I will not ask, neither will I tempt the Lord.

13 And he said, Hear ye now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will ye weary my God also?

14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Isaiah 9:6

6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Matthew 1:23

23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Luke 1:28-33

28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.

30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.

31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus.

32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

 Luke 2:4-7

4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

Luke 2:11-14

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
